Twilight Vigil by Caravela Twilight Vigil by Caravela
Hartshead Pike overlooking Ashton-Under-Lyne, Greater Manchester.

I almost lost my fingers to frostbite, it was that cold! Must pop thermal gloves on my list to Santa Claus!!! lol.

That's amazing. You really wouldn't think of Hartshead Pike like this. Haha, too rainy and dull in Ashton. But I'm going to try this now. Thanks! (:

My pleasure Paulo and thank you for looking at my gallery.

Australia is a wonderful place to live and we have so much natural beauty.

Ever since watching the bush tucker man on tv when I was young, oz has always facinated me! It must be a real privilege to live there, but I have to say also, it's a privilege for me to live in England...it too has its fair share of outstanding scenery - shame the weather spoils it sometimes (for photography anyway)!!! lol

I don't have anything to compare living in Australia to as it is the only placed that I have lived. All I can say is that I do enjoy living here.

I have seen some beautiful photos of England too as I have of other countries. I think that each country has it's own beauty and that it is only a matter of searching for it.

I've a few relatives in England as my mother was born there but I have never met them.

I must admit that is true, everywhere does have its very own essence and beauty, and obviously its our job as photographers to find that and portray it as best we can! The good thing about the UK is that it has a multitude of varying landscapes and all within easy reach! You just have to pray the weather behaves itself! lol

In Australia everything is so far away :-)

I have heard quite a few stories about the UK weather. How would like to swap for a couple of days? The forecast for where I live is 2 days of over 40 degrees :-)

Yes please Malcolm...although I doubt you'll be wanting to swap when I tell you that blizzards and temp of -5 have been forecast for the weekend!!! Still fancy swapping? Didn't think so! :-( lol

Obrigado Henrique! Desculpa, mas eu tenho que responder en ingles. Ja nao escrevo em portugues a muinto, muinto tempo!!!

2 exposures, one for the sky and one for the foreground, then combined in photoshop! Nao gosto de usar ND filters - custao dinheiro!
Lol.

I dont think you will be able to take photos with thermal gloves
I tried, and it is impossible !! I was in Utah, at Deer Valley... 5 secons were
enough to feel nothing :D

Amazing shot. It was worth the cold !!

Smiles,
M.
